The Essential Hospital Bag Checklist

Hospital Bag Checklist

Such an exciting and somewhat nerve wrecking time, when you’re packing up your hospital bag for you and baby. After having three babies, I put a lot of love into this essential hospital bag checklist & my hope is that it will help you prepare for one of the most special moments in your life of giving birth to your baby.

Mama’s Bag

  • Weekender bag/duffel
  • Robe
  • Pajama set (loose and ones with buttons are ideal for nursing)
  • Comfy slipper socks with grips on bottom
  • Nursing pads (linked my favorites here)
  • Socks/comfy walking shoes
  • Flip flops for shower
  • Panties (bigger granny panties, and probably not white!)
  • Nursing bras (2-3)
  • Nursing tank top
  • Maternity pants/leggings
  • Comfy shirt (x2)
  • Going home outfit (for me it’s either a comfy cotton flowy dress, or if weather is cooler yoga pants and a comfy oversized sweatshirt/shirt)
  • Nipple cream
  • Tucks Pads
  • Prenatal vitamins
  • Protein bars
  • Extra-long phone charger cord/phone
  • Camera
  • Glasses/contacts if applicable
  • Pillow
  • Wallet/ID/insurance card
  • Music playlist if having one (highly recommend Christian Birth Hypnotherapy app)
  • Written Birth plan **I never make one, but I know some people are more specific**

Toiletries:

  • Hair ties
  • Brush
  • Wash cloth
  • Face wash/lotion
  • Dry shampoo
  • Toothpaste
  • Toothbrush
  • Chapstick
  • Deodorant
  • Shampoo/conditioner
  • Body wash
  • Essential oils for tub

Tip: I pack only a couple of my own maternity pads, the hospital will supply you with pads, a water bottle, Epsom bath salts for your bath, and other essential “after delivery” items for you. I over packed pads with my first child, and ended up bringing it all home.

All linkable items from above are linked here: http://liketk.it/2Oup3
